   Newark Wire Cloth Company offers a comprehensive selection of 3A-approved sanitary strainers for all processing applications. Typical material of construction is 316L Stainless Steel. Offerings are available in Inline, Side Inlet, RS, Y-Strainers, and Basket Strainers. We typically can ship and deliver strainers within one week due to our extensive stock of all SaniClean Strainer models. Each model can be sized to meet the demands of each particular application. We are able to provide flow rate and pressure-drop information based on the viscosity of the material being processed. This calculation/information is critical in providing the correct-size strainer for the process at hand. We pride ourselves in the ability to provide accurate information before an order is ever placed. Piping connections range from industrial threaded or flanged ends to sanitary connections. Threaded, butt weld flanged, Tri-Clover™, I-Line, Bevel Seat, or IDF connections can be provided on any of our strainer housings and models.

   In terms of filtration, the strainers can be furnished with perforated support cores for coarse filtration and are normally provided with either 1/4” or 1/8” diameter perforated cores; custom sized ranging from 1/16” to 1/2” diameter holes are available. In conjunction with the cores, which are utilized as a support, is a full line of wire mesh and SKS overscreens available from 10 mesh (1900 microns) to 200 mesh (73 microns). We also fabricate wedge wire cores that can be made to any slotted size for high pressure applications to provide more strength than the standard perforated cores. They eliminate the requirement for an overscreen in the filtration process. However, overscreens are interchangeable and will fit on the wedge wire cores if necessary.

   The RS and Y-Strainer have an O-Ring seal, which is a further refinement to the “industry standard” line of strainers by eliminating bypass of material around the filter element. For higher capacity applications, we offer basket strainers, which can be provided with the same range of options that are available with the other styles we make.                                       

   The high-capacity basket strainers can be provided with standard (150 PSI) or higher-pressure (300 PSI) models using our custom Single Bolt Quick Opening QuikClamp Cover (Picture A). Please see video link below* included for a more in-depth view of this high-pressure adaptation.

   For any strainer model or size, we can supply synthetic filtration media, which may be preferred over a metallic filter or dictated by industry standards.
